What is Progressive Blackjack?

Progressive Blackjack provides an interesting variation on the standard blackjack game and is becoming increasingly popular online amongst devotees of the traditional game.

It works just like ordinary blackjack except for the fact that players have an opportunity to win a progressive jackpot. By placing a simple side bet for as little as $1, players can win on different hand combinations.

With each hand, a bet is placed on what cards are dealt first up. If these combinations don’t come up, the jackpot progresses until a player does win, or they may win a portion of the jackpot. Games vary between online sites and software offerings.

Generally, progressive jackpot games in blackjack relate to the dealing of aces. A jackpot is paid out at 100 percent if a player bets on being dealt four aces of the same suit. If the player is dealt four aces from different suits they may win 10 percent of the progressive jackpot. Three aces of the same suit may win 250 times the original bet, two unsuited aces 100 times the original bet.

The side bet is in addition to the minimum betting requirements of the standard game.
